Good to know
The magnets hold the jaws in place while you position the fitting. Once the vice is closed, the clamping force does the holding. If you want the jaws to stay put permanently, or you bump your vice a lot, go for the bolt-on AN soft jaws (suits 5" vices with 53.5–82mm bolt spacing).
